Acute back pain

This lady was a hairdresser who had a sudden sharp pain in her back. She had difficulty moving her upper back and was unable to go to work, although this patient had only 2 sessions of acupuncture she felt back to normal. She was advised to call in for a check up but has reported no further symptoms and has not come back to the clinic.

Chronic back pain

A joiner with chronic dull aching low back pain came for a consultation, he was pale, tired and had experience pain for 12 months. He had seen a variety of other professionals for his condition but his condition had remained unaltered. He received treatment twice weekly for 6 weeks and pain was reduced to the odd twinge. He commented on his improved sleep pattern, energy levels and how he felt these had then positively enhanced other areas of his life.

Sore knees

This 65 year old patient had difficulty walking without a stick she had been unable to walk for any distance over 100 yards. The patients knees were warm and swollen the GP had advised anti inflammatory drugs, the dose had been increasing over a period of 4 months, with no improvement of symptoms. Treatment with acupuncture was given twice weekly for 4 weeks then weekly for 5 weeks this was reduced to fortnightly as the patients symptoms improved. She is able to walk without a stick and suffers no pain or discomfort she attends the clinic at 3 weekly intervals for a maintenance treatment.
